Her grandparents and her father are from Chroatia by birth. They moved to Venezuela in 1947. In her childhood Gabriela dream to become a ballet-dancer, but later she decided to become an actress. Her parents weren't delighted with her decision, but soon they realized that they couldn't stop her dreams to become an actress
Gaby first appeared in the "soap opera", when she was an adolescent. Even the fact, that she was given the roles without the words didn't stop her. She knew that only physical perfection could help her to take part in the contests of beauty and open the road toward the main roles in the serials. Therefore she made a very strict diet and lost about 25 kg. in a short time. Now her weight is 57 kg., and her height is 1,74 m. In 1992 she participated in the contest for "Miss Venezuela" representing the state of Guarico and had won the "Miss Body Beautiful" title.
After that contest, she began to work as a professional model (1993). Gabriela was studying a psychology one year, alternating this with acting classes at the Luz Columba Theatre Research Center directed by Nelson Ortega. Later, she also completed different courses of professional improvement at the Training Center of Professional Communication, which is a part of Diego Cisneros Organisation and, in the Free Workshop for the Actor. She took special courses at Herman Institute for professional models.
In 1995, when she was making her new soap opera, Gaby met the actor Miguel de Leon (who act as douglas maldonado in la usurpadora). The couple got married on October 22,1997 on a live telecast wedding. Soon after the wedding, they moved to Mexico City, because Gaby had signed the exclusive contract with Mexican telecompany "Televisa" that expires in May 2001. They decided to stay in Mexico permanently, Miguel also had signed the exclusive contract with "Televisa".
Now Gaby is making her third serial for "Televisa", which is called "La intrusa"("The intruder - woman").
Gaby has finish filming la intrusa in october 2001 and will take a break with her husband miguel de leon and visit her family at venezuela.
